Alastair
and Linda McGaw welcome you to "Tighnafeile House"
Tighnafeile House was built in
1911 - 1912 for Mr and Mrs John Matheson and their six children.
The house was designed by Timaru architect Walter Panton and was
built by John Pringle.
The Mathesons named the house 'Tighnafeile' (pronounced Tyne-a-faylee)
which is Gaelic for "House of Welcome". Tighnafeile
is 5005sq ft ( 465msq ) and is built on a land area of 2360m sq
The House was purchased in 2007
by Linda and Alastair McGaw, who have a love of antiques and classic
cars.
There are four bedrooms with ensuites.
A three course evening meal is available, prepared in the expansive
kitchen within the house.
The house has recently been re-wired
and re-plumbed, and the grounds have been extensively landscaped.
The property was awarded a Qualmark
5 Star grading in 2003.
Our wish is to make your stay
at "Tighnafeile House" relaxing and friendly, so you
leave more refreshed than when you arrived.
